Drachma

What it means
The drachma belonged to Greek monetary systems and its weight and value differed by city and period.
In the first-century setting it was often comparable to, but not automatically identical with, a denarius.
How it appears in the Bible
Jesus’ parable of the lost coin portrays a woman carefully searching for one missing drachma.
