Feast of Tabernacles
An autumn harvest festival during which Israel lived temporarily in simple shelters.
Also called · Feast of Booths · Sukkot
What it means
The shelters recalled the wilderness journey and kept settled generations connected to dependence, harvest gratitude, and communal celebration.

Nehemiah describes a renewed observance after the exile. John 7 places Jesus in Jerusalem during the festival and uses its setting in his public teaching.
