Wave offering
An offering presented before the Lord by a ritual waving motion.
Also called · elevation offering
What it means
In Leviticus 7, the breast of a peace offering is waved and becomes the portion of Aaron and his sons. Leviticus 23 also describes waving the first sheaf of grain, and later bread with lambs, before the Lord.
How it appears in the Bible
In Exodus 29:24–25, the waved gifts are taken back from Aaron and his sons and burned on the altar. Leviticus 7:30–34 distinguishes the waved breast from the right thigh given as a heave offering.
