Eunuch
A castrated man or, in some contexts, a royal court official.
Also called Β· Court eunuch Β· Court official
What it means
Eunuchs often served in royal households where trusted access was important. Biblical usage can describe physical status, an office, or both.
Isaiah promises faithful eunuchs an honored place, and Acts tells of an Ethiopian eunuch who hears the gospel and is baptized.
How it appears in the Bible
The term belongs to ancient court life and should not be assumed to describe every official in exactly the same physical sense.
